Looking forward to seeing KDE 4 which is being released this day next week. If you want to have a play with the release candidate you can download a Live KUbuntu CD here.
TO be honest I haven’t tried it yet. Will probably end up waiting for the released version next week. I am looking forward to it though. Hopefully it won’t be too bloated and slow.
I will probably give it a try on the release candidate though I was disenfranchised when I heard that there was an “aero” equivalent called plasma(or something) and widgets(or should I say gadgets?) on the desktop.
I am curious as to what all the icons in the corners are(screenshots are easy to find) and obviously the best way to find out if something is good or not is to use it for a week though I have always found KDE somewhat “cluttered”…
Yeah I actually find some of those widgets useful. I used SuperKaramba before, but I didn’t find it stable. As long as it doesn’t slow things down and you have the option to remove them I don’t see the harm.
I never found it cluttered. Think it is much better than GNome. But again that’s personal preference. I suppose I began using SuSE which had KDE as a default and so I got used of it. Like Fluxbox as well though.
In fairness the latest version of KDE is just some Vista-ist(which in turn is just OSX-ish) update!
No actual update but just a bloat!

I shall gladly be proven wrong though!
