The state of the nation

A great article here on the new Maternity hospital in Cork and how another Public Scheme has been badly organised. I really think we need to shake things up in the next election. We pay huge money for everything, we pay more tax than most countries in Europe (including Stealth taxes), the Health Care system is a joke, we have a “knowledge based economy” where broadband isn’t even regulated, the list is endless.

This place is turning into a bit of a joke.

Indeed the state of the Irish hospitals are a disgrace. The nurses are up in arms and the health system doesn’t seem to be doing a great job at modernising. What in heavens name will it be like in 10 years from now ?

No idea but I don’t plan to wait around and find out to be honest. I can’t afford to live here anymore. My standard of living compared to friends of mine who have moved abroad is pretty bad. And most of them get great free health care.

Like I keep saying I think it’s time to start voting for the fringe parties in the election.

Ya see the past few years Sinn Fein have been creeping up the points table. At the mo they are on par with Labour in the South and will be in government in 6 months in the North. 10 years time they will be battling head to head with FF down here and then finally negotiating with themselves i the North for a 32 county Ireland!

Yeah i am definitely voting Sinn Féin. I would often give them my vote anyway as anybody who knows me knows :) Not sure how i feel on their stance on Europe though. But having said that how does that old saying go?
